South Wales Police RFC u16’s v Corus RFC u16’s

History was made at Waterton Cross on Wednesday 24th August with the first match for the newly formed South Wales Police under 16 team taking on Corus under-16’s in a friendly fixture.
It was very promising start for the Police in terms of territory and possession and Lloyd Bartlett was the first to score and give the Police a 5-0 lead.
Despite determined efforts from the visitors the Police held the lead until the later stages of the second half. Then experience and physical presence allowed Corus to score four tries in a short period. This produced a somewhat flattering final score for the visitors of 5-24.
The Police players could leave the field with their heads held high having shown pride passion and commitment. Thanks to the efforts of Keith Miles and his coaching team another great stride has been taken by South Wales Police in developing rugby within the community.
