The rugby pitch at Waterton welcomed ‘it’s a knockout’ competitors from across Wales on Saturday 23rd July. 27 teams took part in wet and wacky challenges, one of which included the South Wales Police Rugby players.
In brilliant sunny conditions,
competitors completed sack
races, bouncy castle basketball,
sponge throwing, muddy
wellington tug of war, plus many
other activities.
Assistant Chief Constable Matt Jukes, who joined the rugby
fundraising team, said “It was an amazing day and it was brilliant to see so many families having a fun day out. We were proud to be one of the event sponsors, and it was great to welcome so many people to the home of our rugby team.”
South Wales Police RFC Player / Manager Steve Lyons said “We were all very proud to take part and support such a great charity in tŷ hafan. It certainly provided a different type of training ahead of the new season.”
It’s expected that the event will raise over £25,000 for tŷ hafan.
